2024 GMC Yukon Fuel Efficiency

In a world where green is the new black, the automotive industry is revving up to deliver the perfect blend of power and eco-friendliness. Standing tall amidst this shift is the Yukon — a testament to General Motor's commitment to harmonizing power and fuel economy. As a prominent player in the SUV market, the Yukon is a testament to the potential of environmentally conscious driving. Better fuel efficiency not only translates to fewer trips to the gas station but also signifies less pollution. Read on as we delve deeper into the impressive fuel efficiency of the 2024 GMC Yukon.

The 2024 GMC Yukon

Buckle up for a wild ride with the 2024 GMC Yukon. This full-size SUV series is already a powerhouse, but the latest model promises to be a game-changer in the fuel efficiency arena. With its eco-friendly features and powerful engine, this beauty is set to take the world by storm and uphold GMC's tradition of being a leader in both performance and efficiency. So what's in store? Let's take a peek at the juicy details.

Fuel Efficiency

GMC has been pushing the limits of engine technology and design, and the latest GMC Yukon is a shining example of their genius. The base 5.3-liter V-8 engine gets decent gas mileage with 15 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. The bigger 6.2-liter V-8 engine delivers similar efficiency, with 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.

The real superstar is the Yukon's 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine. It offers the best fuel economy of the lot, clocking in at a remarkable 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. GMC's commitment to improving fuel efficiency is truly admirable, and these numbers are sure to turn heads.

Engine Specifications and Performance

With engine options to suit every driver's needs, the 2024 GMC Yukon is more than just a pretty face. The base engine is a beastly 5.3-liter V-8 that packs a punch with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Don't think that power means gas-guzzling, though, as GMC has balanced performance with fuel efficiency to keep your wallet happy.

For even more oomph, the 6.2-liter V-8 engine delivers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. If you prioritize fuel economy, the 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-six engine is the way to go with 277 horsepower and an impressive 460 lb-ft of torque. This diesel dynamo is perfect for heavy-duty towing without sacrificing fuel efficiency.

Eco-Friendly Features

The 2024 Yukon is a lean, mean, eco-friendly machine. Its engine options are already fine-tuned for fuel efficiency, but it's also aerodynamically designed with a lightweight structure, so you can kiss those gas station blues goodbye. Plus, it features a Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension system that adjusts the vehicle's height and performance to the road conditions, giving you the smoothest, most efficient ride possible. So, whether you're cruising on the highway, tackling rough terrain, or parking in tight spaces, the Yukon can adapt to your needs and preferences.

Driving Experience

The fuel efficiency of the 2024 GMC Yukon significantly enhances the driving experience by extending the vehicle's range and reducing fuel consumption. With a mighty fuel tank of 24 gallons, this SUV can take you on a road trip of a lifetime. This large capacity allows you to travel 420 miles when the tank is filled with diesel. If you opt for gasoline, you can expect to travel up to 480 miles on a single tank.

This extended range capability of the 2024 GMC Yukon provides you with a significant advantage, especially when it comes to long-distance travel. It means fewer stops for refueling, which can save you time and make your journey more enjoyable. Whether you're planning a road trip with your family or friends or you're an adventurer eager to explore new destinations, the 2024 GMC Yukon offers the freedom and flexibility you need. Its fuel efficiency doesn't just reduce the frequency of refueling stops but also contributes to lower running costs in the long run.

GMC has equipped the 2024 Yukon with advanced technologies that optimize its fuel consumption, such as cylinder deactivation, variable valve timing, and a start-stop system. It also features a Driver Mode Control/Traction Select System that allows you to tailor your vehicle's performance in response to road conditions or driving preferences. By selecting the appropriate mode, you can optimize the vehicle's performance for various situations, whether you need to tow, want to save fuel, or desire a sportier performance. This feature not only enhances the driving experience but also contributes to improved fuel efficiency.

Comparison With Competitors

The 2024 GMC Yukon, with its turbo-diesel engine, is a standout in its class. It offers impressive fuel efficiency, especially when compared to other large SUVs, such as the Ford Expedition, the Chevrolet Tahoe, and the Lincoln Navigator.

The Yukon's fuel efficiency is also competitive when compared to midsize SUVs, such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Toyota Highlander, and the Honda Pilot. While these vehicles each have their strengths, the 2024 GMC Yukon holds its own in terms of highway fuel efficiency.

Moreover, the 2024 GMC Yukon doesn't just compete with other SUVs. It also matches up well against compact and midsize crossovers, such as the Honda CR-V, the Hyundai SANTA FE, and the Ford Escape. So, if you're looking for a vehicle that's spacious, powerful, and fuel-efficient, the 2024 GMC Yukon is a fantastic choice.

2024 GMC Sierra 3500 HD Trim Levels

2024 GMC Sierra 3500 HD Trim Levels

Truck drivers planning on towing and hauling the heaviest loads will struggle to find a better option than the GMC Sierra 3500 HD. This pickup stands out with potent engine options, expansive cargo beds, and an impressive towing capacity. You can choose from a range of 2024 GMC Sierra 3500 HD configurations and unique specifications to create your perfect HD truck. Here at Fahrney Buick GMC, our vehicle experts can advise you on the best 3500 HD configuration to meet your needs and answer any questions you may have.

There are six trim levels for you to choose from in the 2024 Sierra 3500 HD lineup: the Pro, SLE, SLT, AT4, Denali, and Denali Ultimate. The MSRP for the base Pro trim is around $45,600, and the top-ranking Denali Ultimate costs at least $98,295. The 2024 Sierra 3500 HD offers two engine options. The Pro through Denali models come standard with a 6.6-liter V-8 gas engine and the option to upgrade to the 6.6-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel V-8, while the Denali Ultimate trim features the latter. The diesel powertrain is ideal if you want to utilize the vehicle's towing abilities.

The 2024 Sierra 3500 HD Pro offers three cab styles. The Regular Cab features a single row of seats, the Double Cab adds a second row, and the Crew Cab variant offers much more legroom for second-row passengers and is probably your best bet if you regularly have adult passengers in the back seat for longer drives. Configurations vary across the other models. As you step up the trim ladder, more interior features become available. For example, the SLT model boasts heated driver and front outboard passenger seats and power windows with driver and front passenger express-up/down.

The lower trims feature a standard 8-inch infotainment screen. If you want a larger screen, you can choose the Denali or Denali Ultimate variant and get a massive 13.4-inch diagonal GMC Premium infotainment system with Google built-in, multi-touch display, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. A Bose premium sound system, standard in the AT4, Denali, and Denali Ultimate trims and an available upgrade in the SLT variant, is great if you want the best sound quality for your music.

All six trims offer various appearance and performance packages depending on your needs. For instance, you can prepare your Sierra 3500 HD to handle a snowplow or equip it with additional towing features. A gooseneck tow hitch is a must-have if you plan on pushing your pickup to the limit of its towing capacity. Alternatively, an off-roading package may interest you with its skid plates, hill-descent control, and off-road suspension to improve performance on rough terrain.

The precise dimensions of the GMC 3500 HD vary depending on your choice of cab and cargo box. If you opt for the Pro model with a Regular Cab and long cargo bed, your truck will measure 230.6 inches from front to rear. It will have a 141.55-inch wheelbase and an 11.2-inch ground clearance, allowing you to navigate obstacles easily. Inside the cab, you'll have over 44 inches of legroom for the driver and passengers. The cargo box measures 98.27 inches in length, so you'll have plenty of space to store your work supplies or other equipment.

The Double Cab paired with the long cargo bed gets you a truck measuring 257.24 inches overall with a wheelbase of 162.48 inches. The cab can accommodate six people. The front row provides 44.53 inches of legroom, while passengers in the back get just over 35 inches, about the same as a compact car.

If you choose the Crew Cab with the standard cargo box, your truck will measure around 20 feet, 10 inches in length, and you'll have a wheelbase of just under 159 inches. Inside the cab, you'll find room for six passengers. There are over 44 inches of legroom up front, while second-row passengers get 43.4 inches. The cargo bed is roughly 6 feet, 10 inches long.

The performance specs for your GMC 3500 HD depend on the engine you choose. The base 6.6-liter gas unit puts out 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. In contrast, the optional V-8 turbo-diesel powertrain churns out 470 horsepower and an impressive 975 lb-ft of torque. Both give you a strong dose of power, but the turbo-diesel engine is the one to go for if you want the best towing experience. Combined with all the optional towing features, you can pull up to 36,000 pounds with the turbo-diesel variant, while the gas-powered unit manages a still respectable 20,000 pounds.

The Sierra 3500 HD's performance specs closely resemble those of the Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD. The vehicles share many features, one of the most significant being the engine. Like the Sierra 3500 HD, the Silverado HD is available with a 6.6-liter gas unit or a turbo-diesel V-8. However, one difference is that the gas-powered Silverado HD has a lower towing capacity than the gas-powered GMC, offering 17,600 pounds and 20,000 pounds, respectively. Both trucks provide a maximum towing limit of 36,000 pounds with the diesel engine.

Heavy-duty trucks like the GMC Sierra 3500 HD are not subject to the same fuel efficiency tests as smaller vehicles. As a result, the EPA does not have official fuel economy numbers for GMC's largest truck. The automaker also offers no information on the miles per gallon figures for its two engine options.

Test Drive the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500 HD at Fahrney Buick GMC

2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Towing Capacity

2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Towing Capacity

Towing capacity is one of the most important indicators of a truck's capabilities. Buyers want to know that the pickup they're considering will be able to handle the loads they need to move around, be it a camper during a weekend trip or a trailer on a job site. The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is a popular choice because it has a high towing capacity, along with the interior comforts that you'd expect from a GMC vehicle. Below, the pickup experts at our Fahrney Buick GMC dealership in Selma, California, review the 2024 Sierra 1500's towing capabilities.

GMC's full-size pickup has a maximum towing capacity of 13,200 pounds. This impressive number makes the Sierra 1500 a great choice for families with a large RV, small business owners requiring a sturdy vehicle for their daily needs, or anyone else wanting to pull a heavy load.

The GMC Sierra 1500 has a range of towing capacities. Consequently, how much the GMC Sierra 1500 can tow will depend on which one of the four engines in its lineup you choose. If you're planning to haul cargo in the truck bed, know that the vehicle's maximum payload capacity is 2,240 pounds.

The GMC Sierra 1500's base engine is a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit. It provides more than enough power for most driving situations and boasts a top towing capacity of 9,500 pounds, which is suitable for most recreational needs. In addition, the turbocharged four-cylinder engine is more fuel-efficient than the larger V-8.

The lineup's smaller V-8 is a 5.3-liter unit capable of producing 355 horsepower. This engine offers an upper towing limit of 11,200 pounds. If you opt for the larger V-8, you'll have a 6.2-liter engine capable of churning out 420 horsepower. This engine has a 13,200-pound towing capacity, making it a good choice if you plan on pushing your Sierra 1500 to the limit of its capabilities.

The final option available is the six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that also has the capacity to tow 13,200 pounds. You may want to opt for the turbo-diesel engine if you prioritize fuel efficiency, as it's more economical than the larger V-8.

If you're more focused on hauling than towing, you'll want to consider the dimensions of the various cargo beds on offer. The GMC Sierra 1500 has three options, the long 8-foot bed, standard 6-foot-6 bed, and short 5-foot-8 bed. Bear in mind that your choice may influence the cab options available.

2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Towing Features

With the Sierra 1500, GMC offers the Trailering Package. It includes several features that will make your towing experience easier, such as the trailer hitch and Hitch Guidance system. The guidance system makes it easier for you to hook up your trailer, camper, or whatever else you want to tow. This package also includes a four-pin or seven-pin connector for your trailer and a seven-wire electrical harness.

Towing professionals will probably favor the Max Trailering Package. It takes the Sierra 1500's towing features to the next level, as it includes a trailer brake and an enhanced cooling radiator. These features are important when you're towing extremely heavy loads. The trailer brake gives you extra control over your cargo while on the road, which helps keep you and other motorists safe. The cooling radiator ensures your engine remains cool when it's working hard.

2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Competitors

The GMC Sierra 1500 can go toe-to-toe with its main competitors in the full-size pickup market. The other vehicles in this class have similar or lower towing capacities. We think the Sierra 1500 keeps its nose ahead thanks to its extensive range of towing assistance features.

The Chevrolet Silverado has a lot in common with the GMC Sierra 1500, as it has a similar engine lineup and a towing capacity of 13,300 pounds. The Silverado model with the top towing capacity has the same six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine as the Sierra 1500.

A further similarity between these two trucks is the upgrade packages on offer. With the Silverado, the choice is between the Trailering Package and Max Trailering Package, both of which include the same features as those in the Sierra 1500's packages. One of the main differences between these two trucks is that the GMC pickup has a more refined interior than the Silverado.

The Sierra 1500 also has to compete with the Ram 1500 for buyers in the full-size pickup class. In terms of towing, the Sierra 1500 comes out on top, as its maximum capacity of 13,200 pounds beats the Ram's 12,750 pounds. The Ram has three engine options: the base V-6, a standard V-8, and a supercharged V-8. To enjoy this vehicle's top towing capacity, the supercharged V-8 engine is the best option. However, if the focus is on hauling cargo, the base V-6 engine is the perfect choice, as it provides the top payload capacity of 2,300 pounds.

The Ram can also be equipped with a range of towing features to improve its performance when pulling a trailer. If the plan is to go off-road, various options may be useful, such as all-terrain tires, an improved suspension, and skid plates, which will help the vehicle cope with rough terrain and larger obstacles.

2024 GMC Canyon Safety Features

2024 GMC Canyon Safety Features

The 2024 GMC Canyon is an attractive option if you're looking for a midsize truck with many of the capabilities offered with larger pickup models. In terms of engine power, towing capacity, and cargo-hauling capabilities, the Canyon offers more than enough to satisfy most pickup truck drivers. GMC has also placed heavy emphasis on the Canyon's safety features to help you keep you and your passengers safe. Here at Fahrney Buick GMC in Selma, California, our truck experts have taken a closer look at what's offered in the new 2024 Canyon.

The new Canyon is packed with several safety features designed to avert accidents in an emergency. You'll find forward collision warning to alert you to obstacles up ahead and automatic emergency braking that kicks in if you don't react quickly enough. The forward collision warning system also has a pedestrian detection feature, which is great for city driving and extra peace of mind.

When you're on the highway, you can rely on lane departure warning and lane-keep assist systems to ensure you stay on the right track. Another helpful highway-driving safety feature is adaptive cruise control, which can automatically adjust your speed to make sure you maintain a safe distance from other drivers ahead of you.

Other features aimed at helping you avoid collisions include blind-spot monitoring and optional rear cross-traffic alert. The monitor warns you if a car is approaching your blind spot, which is one of the most common causes of collisions. If you opt to add the rear cross-traffic alert feature, you also get rear automatic emergency braking.

In the event of a collision, the Canyon is equipped with air bags to help minimize injuries. Front air bags safeguard the heads of the driver and front-seat passenger, while side air bags are positioned to reduce the impact of a collision on your torso. Overhead airbags aim to cushion the impact of a side-on collision that results in a rollover.

You can also depend on some features to help you out in case you lose control of your Canyon. For example, stability control can detect when you're traveling too fast to handle your truck effectively. If this happens, the system can reduce power to the engine so you return to a safer speed. In addition, anti-lock brakes detect when your Canyon's tires stop spinning after you hit the brakes. The braking system adjusts the pressure to allow your tires to continue to turn, which improves your ability to steer your Canyon while you brake.

Truck drivers who regularly tow know that the safety of their trailer is just as important as their vehicle. Luckily, the Canyon offers a variety of safety features to help with this. The Trailering Package includes a trailer brake to give you more control over your load.

It also features a 2-inch hitch with either four-pin or seven-pin connectors to make sure your trailer is securely attached at the rear. If you stick to carrying your loads in your cargo bed, you can add in-bed lighting to make the job of unloading and loading at any time of the day safer.

GMC Canyon Driver-Assistance Features

Beyond its safety features, the Canyon boasts many driver-assistance options designed to make your job behind the wheel easier. Driver-assistance technology allows you to retain an overall picture of your vehicle's performance and surroundings, alerting you to potential dangers earlier than would otherwise be the case. For example, the rearview camera gives you a clear view of what's going on at the back of your Canyon, which is especially useful if you're parking or going in reverse.

The optional head-up display is another handy piece of technology that's well worth considering. It projects key information about your truck, including your speed and other performance details, onto the windshield so you can monitor your Canyon's performance while keeping your eyes on the road ahead.

Many of you will be planning to use your Canyon for transporting cargo, and this may involve maneuvering in and out of tight parking spots when you're loading up or emptying your cargo bed. If this is the case for you, the optional surround-view parking camera could be what you're looking for. You get an aerial view of your Canyon on your display so you can see how much room you have to maneuver on all sides. A more basic alternative is provided by rear parking sensors, which are another optional upgrade.

A further popular feature available in the Canyon and other GMC vehicles is Teen Driver. If you have a learner in your household, this feature allows you to control how they use your Canyon so they stay safe. For instance, Teen Driver lets you impose a speed limit on your truck or keep the stereo below a certain loudness level. It works by creating different profiles for each driver, enabling you to have restrictions for a secondary driver.

Finally, you can add a navigation system to your Canyon to help you find your next destination. The navigation system is especially helpful if you use your Canyon for work purposes and regularly have to find new addresses. It also benefits you more generally by keeping you on top of the latest traffic information, allowing you to avoid busy areas when possible. If you combine the navigation system with the head-up display, you can have all the relevant information you need on the windshield for ease of access.
